Supplementary studies—teacher training

The University of Hamburg offers supplementary courses for international teaching program graduates with a teaching degree obtained abroad who need an additional teaching subject (min. 60 credits, max. 85 credits) to teach in Hamburg. In addition to their teaching degree, international graduates need confirmation from the school authorities that they are lacking a degree component (teaching subject/specialization).

You may supplement your studies with current courses. Depending on the teaching level, these courses are generally worth a minimum of 60 credits and a maximum of 85 credits. The content and assessment of your chosen teaching subject are governed by the framework examination regulations for bachelor’s and master’s teaching degrees and the respective subject-specific provisions (FSBs) for the individual degree components. Admission to the program is possible every winter semester.
