Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (Application and Organization)

The coordinating university (UHH) is primarily responsible for developing the short-term program (concept, content, credits). Ideally, partner institutions should be involved in the preparatory phase by giving lectures and/or co-teaching during the virtual and/or physical phase. In addition, the partners advertise the available places for participation in the BIP for students internally, usually in consultation with the International Office of their university. The number of places is agreed upon by the participating partners and the coordinating university in advance of the application. For a successful application as a coordinating institution, the concept should include the following:

• Title, structure, content
• Duration and number of mobile participants
• Level of study (BA, MA, PhD) and number of credits
• Partner universities

Please allow sufficient time in advance so that the participating partners can carry out the internal university application and nomination process for BIP short-term mobility within a reasonable time frame.

1. At least 3 ECHE universities from different program countries (including the University of Hamburg); it is strongly recommended to plan with at least 4 partners.
2. Existing Erasmus+ agreement (IIA). Note: There is a multilateral Erasmus+ agreement with the EUGLOH partners that already includes this component for all 9 partners.
3. The venue for physical mobility must be located in a program country (please contact the International Office if you have any questions).
4. Duration of physical (financially eligible) mobility: min. 5 – max. 30 days + virtual mobility of indefinite duration.
5. No tuition fees may be charged.
6. Students must sign a learning agreement.
7. Minimum 3 ECTS per student.
8. At least 10 mobile learning participants (usually students). It is strongly recommended to plan for at least 25 mobile learners, as experience has shown that cancellations can occur at short notice.
9. The same BIP can only be applied for once per mobility project. However, it is possible to repeat the BIP in a project without OS funding.
